Ticking Stripe & Heavyweight Fabrics

Ticking began as the hard-working cloth of mattresses and pillows: tightly woven, striped and made to last for generations. Today its clean lines and honest strength have made it a classic of interiors and workwear alike. This collection brings together our ticking stripes with other heavyweight weaves: double face linen, rigid cotton and sturdy cotton-linen and hemp blends.

Built to last. With weights from around 200 to 375 GSM, these fabrics hold their shape, stand up to everyday use and soften beautifully over time without losing their structure.

Extra wide, fewer seams. Many of our ticking fabrics come in extra-wide 235–240 cm widths, so you can cover a sofa, dress a bed or hang a full-height curtain without a single seam. A rare advantage for interior designers and upholsterers.

Woven, not printed. Every stripe is woven into the cloth, so it stays crisp through years of use and washing.

Natural fibres. Cotton, linen and hemp blends that breathe and age gracefully: a natural alternative to synthetic upholstery fabrics.

Perfect for: chair and sofa upholstery, headboards and ottomans, cushions, mattress and pillow covers, curtains and roman blinds, bedspreads and table linen; aprons, work trousers and jackets, tote and beach bags; interior design projects.
