Moire İpek Kutnu Kumaşlar

Silk Moire & Kutnu Fabrics

Discover our collection of silk moire and Kutnu-inspired fabrics, rooted in the rich textile heritage of Anatolia. Woven from a refined blend of 50% natural Turkish cotton and 50% pure silk, these distinctive textiles combine the natural character of cotton with the softness, subtle sheen and fluid texture of silk.

Known for their characteristic moire effect, these fabrics feature a unique water-like pattern that changes beautifully with light and movement. Our collection includes both patterned and more subtle moire fabrics, offering different textures and visual effects for creative projects.

Silk moire fabric is particularly suited to fashion, couture, upholstery, cushions, headboards, decorative interiors and bespoke design projects. Available by the yard, our fabrics are designed for designers, makers, interior professionals and anyone looking for distinctive natural-fiber textiles. Each fabric is cut by the meter (39.4 in, about 1.09 yd), so ordering is as easy as buying fabric by the yard.

The Heritage of Kutnu

Kutnu is a traditional textile associated with the weaving heritage of Gaziantep, Türkiye. Known for its distinctive woven patterns, rich colours and combination of silk and cotton, Kutnu has long been part of the region's textile tradition.

At Anatolian Textures, we draw inspiration from this heritage while creating textiles suited to contemporary fashion, interiors and design. Our moire collection brings the characteristic texture and visual movement of moire together with a natural cotton-silk composition.

Bringing History Back to Life

Silk moire has dressed the courts and salons of past centuries, and its watermark sheen is instantly recognisable in old master paintings. That is why costume designers choose our fabric to recreate historical garments in place of original period textiles that are no longer available.

One such piece is on display at the V&A Museum East Storehouse in London: a reinterpretation of the gown worn by a woman in a 17th-century painting, recreated stitch by stitch in our salmon silk moire and exhibited alongside the artwork that inspired it.

Our moire also takes the stage with conservatories, leading theatre schools, and opera and ballet productions, where it needs to look authentic under the lights and hold up through performance after performance.

Every year, it is also a favourite at the Venice Carnival, where participants create elaborate period gowns to compete in La Maschera più Bella, the carnival's famous best masked costume contest in Piazza San Marco. Its rich sheen and authentic character make it a natural choice for anyone recreating the elegance of past centuries.
