Handwoven Open Weave Linen Cotton Fabric by the Yard – Black, Indigo | Large Pores, Solid
Description
A rare handwoven linen and cotton fabric, designed exclusively for special collections and inspired by the rushing movement of a waterfall. Its deep, three-dimensional texture comes from a process few weavers still follow: the yarn is dyed first, then we twist it ourselves, and only once it has been twisted is the yarn ready for the loom.
This is our open weave version, woven from a thicker yarn with larger open pores for a bold, sculptural texture with more body. The weft and warp are woven in the same color, giving a rich, solid shade that lets the cascading texture take center stage.
How it is made
Dyed, then twisted by us: the yarn is dyed first and twisted afterwards in our own workshop, before it ever reaches the loom – a rare step that creates the fabric's sculptural, cascading surface.
Woven with traditional techniques: our looms produce no more than about 70 meters a week.
No chemical softeners: after weaving, the fabric is simply home-washed and generously steamed. Its softness comes from the linen and cotton themselves, leaving a natural, breathable fabric that only gets softer with time.
