Handwoven Textured Linen Cotton Fabric from Anatolia
A rare handwoven linen and cotton fabric, created exclusively for special collections and inspired by the rushing movement of a waterfall. Its deep, three-dimensional texture comes from a process few weavers still follow: the yarn is dyed first, then twisted in our own workshop, and only then woven on traditional looms.
How it is made
Twisted by us: twisting the yarn before it reaches the loom is a rare step, and it is what gives the fabric its sculptural, cascading surface.
Slow, traditional weaving: our looms produce no more than about 70 meters a week.
No chemical softeners: after weaving, the fabric is simply home-washed and generously steamed. Its softness comes from the linen and cotton themselves – a natural, breathable fabric that only gets softer with time.
Choose your version
The fabric (60% linen, 40% cotton, 115 cm wide) is woven in two textures and several color constructions:
Fine weave – a finer yarn with small open pores, light and softly draping:
White weft over colored warp – 11 colors
Black weft over colored warp – red, green, indigo
Solid colors – pinks, indigo, black
Open weave – a thicker yarn with larger open pores, bolder and more sculptural:
White weft over colored warp – stone, camel, black
Black weft over colored warp – brown, greens, indigo
Solid colors – black or indigo
Natural undyed: Unbleached natural ivory, in fine or open weave
Fabric by the yard
Every fabric is cut by the meter (39.4 in, about 1.09 yd), so ordering textured linen fabric by the yard is simple: one meter covers a little more than a yard, and multiple meters are cut as one continuous length. Because production is limited, please contact us for large quantities.
For designers and special collections
These fabrics are made for capsule and designer collections, resort and beachwear, kimonos and kaftans, summer dresses, layered tops, shawls and scarves, as well as textural interior accents. Their open weave calls for careful finishing of seams. Small variations in texture are a natural part of handwoven textiles. To see the color, texture and drape in person, we recommend ordering a fabric swatch first.
